These Terms & Conditions apply to bookings for the Yasmina Academy Barista Training Programme (the “Programme”), provided by Yasmina Cafe Ltd (Companies House no. 15069042; registered office: Union Chambers, Grainger Street, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 5JE), trading from 45 Grainger Street, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 5JE (“Yasmina”, “we”, “us”). Contact: theacademy@yasminacafe.com.

By applying and paying, you (the “Trainee”) enter into a contract with us on these terms. Please read them carefully — they explain your cancellation rights and our responsibilities.

• The Programme lasts one month. You complete a minimum of 40 hours and up to 50 hours within that month. The 40-hour minimum includes 4 hours from the four online BrightSafe certificates (Fluids & Nutrition; Food Allergen Awareness; Food Safety Awareness; HACCP Awareness), which count as 1 hour each once the certificate has been issued and which you must complete by 15 November 2026. The remaining hours are hands-on training at Yasmina Cafe, covering espresso, milk steaming, coffee drinks, customer service and POS, food safety basics, food prep and café workflow.
• Starts the week beginning Monday 2 November 2026; sessions run 8–11am at Yasmina Cafe, 45 Grainger Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 5JE.
• Taught in Arabic and English. No prior experience is needed.
• Training days are arranged with you around your timetable, subject to the minimum attendance in section 6.

• Early-bird fee: £250 for the first 10 people who confirm their place by paying. Standard fee: £350.
• The fee includes all training materials and the fees for the four BrightSafe certificates (Fluids & Nutrition; Food Allergen Awareness; Food Safety Awareness; HACCP Awareness), CPD-accredited and quality-assured by RoSPA Qualifications.
• Payment is taken online in full by Stripe before the Programme starts. Your place is confirmed only once payment has been received and we have emailed you.
• Early-bird places are allocated in order of completed payment; once 10 have been paid, the standard fee applies.

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you may cancel this contract within 14 days of the day after payment (the “cancellation period”) without giving a reason. To cancel, email theacademy@yasminacafe.com with your name and booking reference (YA-XXXX) — a clear statement is enough.

Starting within the cancellation period: if your course starts within 14 days of booking, we can only start your training during the cancellation period if you expressly request this. You make that request by ticking the box on the application form. If you then cancel within the cancellation period, you will pay a proportionate amount for the training provided up to the time you tell us you are cancelling, and we will refund the rest.

We will refund you within 14 days of receiving your cancellation, to the original payment method.

• Within the 14-day cancellation period: full refund, less a proportionate amount for any training already provided at your express request (see section 4). The £50 administration fee does not apply to cancellations within this period.
• After the 14-day period but before your course starts: refund of the fee paid, less a £50 administration fee.
• Once training has started: no refund and no transfer to another cohort, except where the law requires otherwise. In particular, if you cancel within the 14-day cancellation period after expressly requesting an early start, you pay for the training received and we refund the value of training not yet received, less any non-refundable items below.
• BrightSafe certificate fees are non-refundable once the certificate courses have been issued to you.
• Refunds are made within 14 days to the original payment method. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

• Every trainee must attend at least 3 days a week and complete a minimum of 40 hours (including the 4 hours from the online certificates described in section 2). These are the minimum requirements to pass.
• Trainees are added to BrightHR as staff and must clock in and out on the BrightHR app for every session. The app records your location when you clock in to confirm you are at 45 Grainger Street. BrightHR remains the official attendance record for classroom sessions (see our Privacy Policy).
• The four online BrightSafe certificates are completed online, not on the BrightHR clock-in. Each one counts as 1 hour towards your 40-hour minimum once it has been issued, is recorded in your student portal, and is not a day attended. You must complete all four by 15 November 2026.
• The Yasmina Academy Certificate of Competence is awarded only to trainees who meet the attendance requirement, complete the minimum of 40 hours (including the 4 online certificate hours) and pass the assessment. Attendance and hours alone do not earn the certificate.
• The four BrightSafe certificates are issued by BrightSafe on successful completion of their courses.
• The Programme does not guarantee employment.

Trainees must be at least 16 years old when the Programme starts. Applicants aged 16 or 17 must provide the name and contact details of a parent or guardian, who must give consent on the application form. We may contact the parent/guardian to confirm consent before training begins.

• Training takes place in a working café. Please be punctual, respectful to staff, customers and other trainees, and follow the trainer's instructions at all times.
• You must follow our food hygiene, health and safety and allergen procedures, including handwashing, wearing the clothing or apron provided, tying back long hair, and reporting any illness (especially vomiting or diarrhoea) before attending.
• Tell us about any allergies, dietary or access needs on the application form so we can make reasonable adjustments. Trainees handle common allergens (for example milk, nuts, gluten and soya).
• Yasmina Cafe is an alcohol-free environment. Smoking and vaping are not permitted on the premises.
• We may suspend or end your place, without refund, for serious or repeated breaches that put safety, hygiene or other people at risk.

We may need to reschedule individual sessions, the start date or the venue arrangements (for example due to trainer illness or circumstances beyond our control). We will give you as much notice as possible and offer alternative dates. If we cancel the Programme, or a change is significant and the alternatives don't suit you, you may cancel and receive a full refund for any training not yet provided.

We provide the Programme with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, for business losses, or for personal belongings brought to the venue. Our total liability to you in connection with the Programme is limited to the fee you paid. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. These terms are provided in English and Arabic; if there is any difference, the English version applies.
